How to Have a Better Conversation

Hello, there. Chad Moore here. This is Where Light Gathers Studio, my spot to share my work in visual sensemaking aka graphic recording, sketchnotes, or scribing.

What that means is I join your events, meetings, conferences, workshops, hackathons, leadership off-sites (anywhere people gather to talk about things that matter) and I draw what I hear. And what may be unsaid.

I help organizations see what they already know and surface what might be.

In the room, people watch their conversation take shape on the wall as it happens. They see their own words up there and know they were heard. Connections between ideas become visible, and so do the gaps and tensions. It gives everyone something to point at, react to, and build on together.

After the room clears, you’re not left with a pile of notes nobody reads. You have one picture of what was actually said, and people remember pictures. Share it with the people who couldn’t be there, put it in your recap or report, post it, pin it up, or bring it to the next meeting so you start where you left off.

The conversation keeps working long after it’s over.

You can follow along with me via my newsletter called The Long Echo:

The Long Echo is about what happens when people see their conversation drawn in real time: how it feels to be heard, and what they do with the picture long after the event ends.
